DR. NICHOLAS MUSS

Dr. Nicholas Muss brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the field of dentistry, having graduated with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1987. His journey in dentistry has led him to establish his practice in Reston in 1988, following his experiences working in oral surgery practices across Northern Virginia.

Known for his blend of artistry and scientific rigor, Dr. Muss has been recognized by local publications and organizations for his exceptional care. His areas of expertise encompass aesthetic dentistry, prosthodontics, restorative dentistry, and implant reconstruction. He is committed to delivering high-quality care tailored to each patient’s needs. Dr. Muss shows a strong commitment to community service. He actively provides pro bono treatment to those in need through church and civic groups.

In his personal life, Dr. Muss finds joy in spending time with his family and pursuing outdoor activities like hiking with his dogs. He also shares his passion for biking and traveling around the world.

DR. SUN RYU

Dr. Sun Ryu graduated in the top 10% of her graduating class from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry in 2003. She completed a General Practice Residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago, IL in 2004. Before joining Muss Family Dentistry, Dr. Ryu worked in a pediatric office providing essential dental care to children from low-income families in under-served areas for three years.

Dr. Ryu’s commitment to excellence is evident through her dedication to continuing education, particularly in cosmetic and general dentistry. She advocates for preventive and conservative dental practices, emphasizing personalized and comprehensive oral care to establish long-term relationships with her patients. Her gentle, considerate, and professional bedside manner has earned her high esteem among her patients.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Ryu remains actively involved in her community. She volunteers her time and expertise to local populations in Northern Virginia through church and civic organizations. She is an active deacon at the Korean United Methodist Church.

In her personal life, Dr. Ryu finds joy in playing tennis and cherishes spending quality time with her husband and their three children.

 

DR. ARWA ZEINEH

Dr. Arwa Zeineh graduated with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 1998 and began private practice that same year in Reston.  Dr. Zeineh has built a reputation for providing exceptional care and establishing a great rapport with her patients.  Dr. Zeineh is dedicated to her patient’s good health and provides a gentle, caring, compassionate environment. Her patience and clinical expertise have built an excellent reputation among dental-phobic patients and children.

Dr. Z (as she is affectionately referred to) has volunteered her services to the local population to provide charitable dental care through local church and civic organizations and has volunteered in refugee camps overseas. She loves to spend time with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs. In her leisure time, she loves to cook, decorate cakes, enjoys poetry, and solve crossword puzzles.

DR. ALEXANDRA HEGERLE

Dr. Alexandra Hegerle graduated with her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2024. Before that, she earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Cornell University and completed an Advanced Biomedical Sciences (ABS) certificate at Georgetown University. Her educational journey reflects a commitment to both the liberal arts and advanced biomedical sciences, providing a well-rounded foundation for her dental career.

Dr. Hegerle’s approach to dentistry emphasizes open communication, discussion, and collaboration with her patients. She tailors her treatment plans to meet the unique needs and desires of each individual, fostering a personalized approach to oral health care. Her goal is to establish long-lasting relationships with her patients in a relaxed environment that empowers them to actively participate in their oral health journey. With her academic achievements and patient-centered philosophy, Dr. Hegerle is excited to make a positive impact in the field of dentistry by prioritizing comprehensive care and patient satisfaction.

Dr. Hegerle is a native of Oakton, VA, and is honored to serve the community she calls home. Growing up, Dr. Hegerle was an active member of the Northern Virginia swimming community: where she swam swimming year-round and volunteered her time coaching stroke schools and Special Olympics. Dr. Hegerle brings a deeply rooted connection to her community and a passion for dentistry that is shaped by her diverse academic background and commitment to personalized patient care.

In addition to dentistry, Dr. Hegerle enjoys hiking, baking her latest sourdough creation, traveling to new destinations, and exploring local wineries and breweries.
